This stimulating and exciting seven day and four day courses are perfect for developing new
skills as well as offering a very enjoyable holiday. With a maximum of eight people, to guarantee high quality personal tuition, and designed for both film and
digital
cameras, it's suitable for all levels of
experience. The main emphasis is on photographing the dramatic scenery and landscapes of the region, which
also provide excellent backdrops for portraits.
On most days there are visits to a variety of locations: the rugged Corbières
hills gashed by rocky ravines, spectacular Cathar Castles perched on high
peaks and dramatic mountain ranges. Lunch
is usually followed by free time and then a late afternoon excursion
to take advantage of the low setting sun and atmospheric Mediterranean
light. A full day trip is made to the lakes beside the Mediteranean with
a picnic or lunch at a local restaurant.
In the evenings Andrew talks about landscape and portrait photography, and reviews students' achievements of the day. There are discussions
and slide shows on the work of different photographers and on
technical subjects such as lighting, composition, use of filters, tripods
and focal length.
But its not all hard work! The area produces some of the best red wine in the Languedoc and there is a visit to a local vineyard. Weather permitting, you can go swimming in idyllic gorges and lakes nearby. There is plenty of time to explore and to enjoy the inspiring light and scents of the beautiful land of the Corbiere.
